Smallables Christmas

Yes I know I found these at a children's store - Smallables - but I think they make great fashion statements for adults too! You should really check out the online Christmas catalog - so beautiful shot and thoughtfully themed, magical without being commercially overbearing, photographs tinged with a romantic light.

There's also an interview with Sophie Demenge, creator of brand Oeuf NYC whose beautiful and simple children's furniture has been seen around quite a bit online.

Tom Dixon + + Junya Ishigami

Another book to get would be Tom Dixon's Industry, plus he is one of my favourite designers of the moment...using materials like like brass and glass in the most romantic way, wood with playful detailing - quite unpredictable but still so simple and spirited + + off cut bench and glass knobs for wall hangers...these would look cute in a child's room. + + +

For those in Singapore, Xtra is having a 30% discount till year end.

+ + +

On the local design front, Junya Ishigami's family chairs with their cheeky knitted dressing are available at p5. I don't know how comfortable they are but I'd like to go to the showroom to try.

Soon!

Apartamento (one of my favourite magazines) is in print and will be out end November! They've updated their website with some nice images of their projects and going-ons, etc.

+ + +

One of their projects include 'The Story of a Mug', which I definitely need to get my hands on some time.

Haus Interior

Lovely homewares from Haus Interior in NYC + cool ceramic cups, a wire book holder and military-inspired cushions.

Pop Up Hotel Room

I'm a little late on this but I wish I was in time for the Lost & Found pop-up hotel in Melboune filled with design knick knacks right down to the music selection.

String

My bedroom is still lacking a vanity table, somewhere girly like the one in the image above from here. Due to the lack of space however I'm thinking of an alternative...

Lately I've been a little obsessed with the Stringfurniture system from Sweden, and wondering if it'd make a nice customisable vanity desk/shelving system...

Stirring Home

A home in Meguro in Tokyo by Mount Fuji Architects Studio stirs up the much feeling in me - designed for a movie producer couple, this concrete and engineered wood ( I won't ever think the Japanese would use synthetic wood but they look good here) lights up differently in the day and night, both on the interior and exterior. The double volume bookshelves are heavenly and so is the detailing of the staircase handrails.
